Basic Information
Redwood National Park was made a national park on October 2, 1968 and was expanded on March 27, 1978. This Park protects Redwood trees, prairies, oak woodlands, wild riverways, and nearly 40 miles of California coastline. It consists of three state parks, Del Norte Coast Redwoods State Park, Jedediah Smith Redwoods State Park, and Praire Creek Redwoods State Park. It runs along the coast of california, and is a total of 108,400 acres. The Redwood forest is 45 miles long, but is only 7 miles wide at its widest point.
